BORG5 Telecoms Network Engineer – National Network Build The role is for a Telecoms Engineer to work on projects as part of our Network Deployment as key part of a highly disciplined European wide engineering team. Working from our brand new office BORG5 premises in central Bydgoszcz you will have access to all of the city centre facilities, we also offer occasional working from home by mutual agreement. Engineering activities are mainly focused on understanding customer requirements from Design documentation, following deployment methodology, producing documentation, using tools/interfaces provided to deliver network integration and service configuration. Specialised skills include ability for migration of equipment or services into/removal from network, working with live services and taking steps to ensure customer acceptance. Working with Cisco, ABB and Nokia equipment, the Key responsibilities for this role are: • Ensuring delivery of given tasks within defined (and sometimes challenging) timelines • Work with the Engineering manager, Deployment Lead Engineer, BORG5 and customer engineers, customer management and integration teams to perform equipment Integration and service provisioning per methods of procedure • Ability to deliver multiple projects at different stages of delivery in similar time periods • Good technical writing, able to produce a good standard engineering documents • Represent BORG5 at customer meetings • Apply generic telecoms engineering processes in all aspects of task and project delivery • Proactively willing to help other engineers as and when the need arises in the interests of BORG5 • Prepare network build options for review by engineering teams Preferred skills for this role are • Understanding of Telecoms engineering principles for some or all of the following technologies IP/MPLS/SDH/PDH • Knowledge of methods of procedure to integrate new equipment or services into new or existing network • Familiar with equipment or service migration practice • Produce and/or review customer method documents • Co-ordinate and communicate with customer teams to ensure deliverables meet project planning and schedule • Track and report design progress and change control • Update reporting tools to reflect progress and changing customer demand Other skills suited for this role are • Knowledge of Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent and ABB solutions using IP/MPLS, SDH and PDH • CCNA or equivalent • Familiar with national Core, Access and Sub-access network topologies • Cisco 9010, 903, 920, NCS540 • Switch Network and Service configuration awareness • Alcatel-Lucent & Nokia 77xx , 16xx, 15xx • ABB/Keymile XM25, XM23 Architecture & Services • Cisco Prime, Nokia SAM/OMS, ALU NM/RM • Migration of live network services Qualifications Required Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications or Experience in a related/similar Network Build role. Summary of Engagement Terms • Business to business (contract), 5 days per week • Aim to establish a long term working relationship • Initial daily rates up to 700 Zloty per day depending on experience • Enhanced rates for overtime and weekend working by arrangement • Option for further increased daily rates for responsibilities based on Senior, Principal and Subject Matter Expertise roles • Support for further relevant skills development such as Cisco certification About BORG5 With highly skilled engineering and delivery teams based in UK & Poland, BORG5 manage and develop engineering teams to deliver telecoms projects and networks on time and in budget. Additional requirements | Office based on Bydgoszcz with option to WFH based on progress and workload Working Hours Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00, potential availability for 3-5 nights shifts per month, no more than 20 nights per year. Night shifts paid at enhanced rates (1.3x for weekday and 1.5x for weekend) Ranges from £75 - £130 (390-675 PL Zloty) per day depending on certification, experience and interview performance. |
